What we collect

Analytics, advertising and cookies

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people use. It sets cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, how you got here, your browser and device, and your approximate location (from your IP address), which Google processes for us. It does not tell us who you are. You can opt out with Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

We show ads to keep the site running. Some are sold directly to local businesses and theaters; we count how many times each is shown and clicked, without identifying you. When you click one, the link tells that sponsor where the ad appeared (for example, the auditions page or a pop-up after a search) and the zip code you searched, so it can see which searches its ad reached. It never includes your name, email, account or home zip.

We also use Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Visitors in some regions will see a consent message before personalized ads are shown.

Who we share it with

Only the services that run the site: Stripe for payments, our email provider to deliver messages, our web host, and Google for analytics and ads as described above. A sponsor whose ad you click learns the page and searched zip described above. We don't sell your information.

Your choices

You can change or pause alerts from your account page at any time. To delete your account and everything tied to it, email privacy@communitytheater.net.

Children

Many listings are for young performers, but accounts are for adults. Parents and guardians should sign up on their child's behalf.
